Why we resist getting a Coach (even when we know we need one)

We all hit that point where we feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward. Deep down, we know a coach could help, yet we hesitate. Why?

•  “𝘐’𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘺𝘦𝘵.” We wait for the perfect moment, not realising it rarely, if ever, comes. Growth starts before we feel fully prepared.
•  “𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘧𝘪𝘨𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘰𝘸𝘯.” The belief that asking for help is a weakness keeps us stuck, even though seeking support is one of the strongest things we can do.
•  “𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯’𝘵 𝘢𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘪𝘵.” So we end up spending more on temporary fixes than on lasting solutions that truly move us forward.

At the core of these hesitations lie something a little deeper, perhaps:
• The fear of stepping into our potential and embracing change.
• The discomfort of being truly seen and held accountable.
• The worry of facing what’s holding us back—and doing something about it.

What I’ve learned is the moment you start thinking about getting a coach is usually the moment you need one.

Don’t wait until you’re so deep in a problem that you need more than a ladder to get you out 🐍🪜
